Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under POSH Act

Introduction

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act). The committee serves as a redressal mechanism to address complaints relatedto sexual harassment at the workplace. Our mission is to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment where every individual can thrive without fear or discrimination.

Functions of ICC

1. To address and resolve complaints of sexual harassment in a fair and confidential manner.

2. To ensure awareness and sensitization regarding workplace conduct and POSH Act guidelines.

3. To recommend appropriate actions against misconduct in alignment with organizational policies and legal provisions.

4. To promote a workplace culture of respect, equality, and zero tolerance for harassment.

Committee Composition:

In accordance with the guidelines established by the National Commission for Women and Child under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for Women has been constituted within the Office of the Controller Of Communication Accounts, UP East. Complaint procedure:

The ICC is committed to maintaining confidentiality, ensuring fair proceedings, and fostering a workplace where everyone feels safe and valued.

Complaints related to instances of sexual harassment against women can be formally reported by submitting a physical written complaint or by sending an email to the Chairperson/Member of the Committee (mentioned above).

Under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Rules, 2013, if the aggrieved woman is unable to personally file a complaint due to physical incapacitation, she can have a representative take action on her behalf.

This representative could be a relative, a friend, a co-worker, an official from the National Commission for Women, a member of the State Women's Commission,or any individual with knowledge of the incident with the written consent of the aggrieved woman
