DIGIDHAN MISSION

• Tamil Nadu Circle initiated to implement Digidhan Mission of Government of India in a widespread manner.

• A preliminary meeting with Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) & National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) was conducted on 24.09.2018.

• We had conducted Digital Payment Melas in 12 Smart Cities as detailed below.

4. Madurai

5. Pondicherry

6. Salem

7. Thanjavur

8. Thoothukudi

9. Tirunelveli

10. Tiruppur

11. Trichy

12. Vellore

Various stakeholders like Telecom Service Providers, Internet Service Providers, NPCI, and Banks were involved in this mission.

The following activities were planned during the Melas:-

• Awareness session on Digital Payment Module by NPCI.

• Demo workshops on usage of various digital payments modes.

• Promotional Stalls were setup by TSPs showcasing the advantages of digital payment.

• A session regarding benefits of smart city concept by nominated person from smart city commissionerate.
