Telecom Reforms 2021

Pursuant to the decision of the Union Cabinet in respect of rationalization of Bank Guarantees, License Amendment bearing No. 20-271/2010 AS-I (Vol-IV) dated 06.10.2021 in respect of UL, UL-VNO & UAS Licensees were laid out. With reference to these reforms, DoT (Hqrs.) issued an O.M No. 1-9/2019-LFP-I Dated 08.10.2021 which laid out procedure for rationalization of Bank Guarantees pursuant to the amendment in the Chapter 4 of the License Agreement(s) i.e. ‘Bank Guarantee (BG) Reforms’.

Pursuant to Telecom Reforms, this office has released 24 BGs of Centralized Licensees and 26 BGs of Decentralized Licensees upon rationalization.

SUC assessment of Centralized Licensees for the Financial Year 2022-23 has been completed and demand notices served in respect of all TSPs.

Assessment of License Fee

License Fee Assessment in respect of Decentralised Licensees for the FY 2022-23 has been completed. License Fee Assessment in respect of Decentralised Licensees for the FY 2023-24 for 4 Licensees (i.e ITR Chandipur, DRDO, Tata Steel, MCL Balaram, MCL Bharatpur) has been completed till 31.08.2024.
